Seems as if a new malware scam tries to impersonate local police authorities and claims a “fine” from affected users.
Be aware that neither local law enforcement nor most software vendors, including Microsoft, online stores except, does not ask for credit card information, usernames or passwords.
This is cool! The Microsoft Tag reader now supports QR codes as well as NFC touchpoints in addition to Tag’s.
The free Tag app works on Windows Phone 7 and 7.5, Windows Mobile, iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Symbian, and J2ME phones so no need to wait, download the application in your app store.

Just for future reference; Explorer View / WebDAV does not work out of the box for SharePoint 2007 on Windows Server 2008 R2.
The reason for this is that IIS7’s WebDAV feature conflicts with SharePoint 2007’s own publishing features.

Finally! After updating my ipod to v4.2.1 last year the car, a 2010 Volvo V70, simply refused to connect to the device.
Thus was not only reported by loads of other Volvo owners but from other car owner as well making this a likely bug in 4.2.1 update.
Rumors said that this would be fixed in 4.3 and after updating today I am happy to report that the USB connection mode works again
Posted from WordPress for Windows Phone
This morning I found the “Update is available” message on my WP7 phone. Not the awaited first update but what is a software update improvement according the the Windows Phone update history.
We made some improvements to the way we deliver software updates to ensure that the process keeps working smoothly for you.
Upon connecting to Zune software check for updates (in Settings > Phone > Update)
The update 7004 > 7008 is found, click Update to continue
The Windows Phone updater starts, which checks for updates again
Yep, an update is found. The More Information link is invalid takning you to the Microsoft homepage. The update history if found here. If you are not using the latest Zune software you will be asked to update Zune first. Update now and the process starts.
The update itself is a 10 step process, and what is taking the most time is “Step 7 of 10: Creating a backup”. Be patient and wait.
Update successful
If you try to update the phone again you’ll see that you have the latest version. You’ll also be able to restore to the previous version.

Always looking for new ways to organize my workday and inbox I have been using, or rather not using, multiple techniques such as GTD and variants thereof but mostly with no success.
Accidentally I stumbled upon yet another time management method the other day called “The Pomodoro Technique”. What seems to be good about this method is that you work on a task for a given set of time followed by a break. By focusing on the task and allowing yourself no interruptions during the podomoro you should be able to get things done.
You can actually download the complete book or primer online or purchase a hardcopy at http://www.pomodorotechnique.com/
I am going to give this a go, being quite simple I think this could be “it”
While the name is inspired from the tomato shaped kitchen timers you can use any kind of timer for this. Having just gotten Visual Studio 2010 Express I also wanted to create my own timer. Just a simple WPF application that allows you to run a timer for a task (25 minutes) or break (15 or 5 minutes).
I’ll post the app as soon as I figure out to link it to WordPress. Leave a comment if you want it.
